Migrate from PI ProcessBook

IOTA VUE provides automated bulk migration of PI ProcessBook displays (.PIW and .PDI files). The migration preserves the same core experience — drag-and-drop interface, unified creation and visualization environment, and seamless navigation between displays — while modernizing the platform.

Migration Steps

1. Select source directory — Point to the folder containing .PIW / .PDI files
2. Choose displays — Browse the file tree and select displays to migrate
3. Configure data mapping (optional) — Map source tags to destination data source (Cognite Data Fusion, Aspen InfoPlus.21, CONNECT data services, or PI System). Regex-based mapping logic is supported.
4. Select destination — Export to file or direct connection to IOTA VUE
5. Run bulk migration

Prerequisites

General Requirements:

• Windows OS (Windows Server 2012+ recommended)
• .NET Framework 4.7.2
• AF SDK (AF Client) 2.10.6.195+
• Read access to PI Server (Data Archive and Asset Framework) for validating data references
• Deployed IOTA VUE with IOTA driver for destination system
• Time series data and data model available on the destination system
• List of displays available to the file system on the machine running the utility

Optional — Direct Publication to IOTA VUE:

• Enable two-way data traffic (TLS encrypted) on port 443 for NATS message bus communication
